Pool Passes Available Monday

If you have a pass issued last year (white, with a barcode on the back), it's still good. You do not need a new one.

If you don't have one of the barcoded passes, we'll be issuing passes starting at noon Monday, and continuing until at least 1pm. Please bring with you a government-issued ID and, if it doesn't have your Westerley address on it, a utility bill, etc. to show you live in Westerley.

If you can't make it Monday, we will be scheduling further dates—keep an eye on the discussion list and web site.

Call for Volunteers for Pool Committee

With spring just around the corner, we need volunteers to get our pool committee running again. If you helped out last year, thank you! and please let us know if you're willing to help again this year. And of course new volunteers are welcome as well.

As a member of the pool committee, you'll help the committee:

  • issue pool passes
  • attend meetings of the committee
  • learn how the pool operates
  • approve minor repairs
  • make recommendations on major repairs, rule changes, etc.

You're of course not expected to do any of that alone.

The minimum time requirement during the pool season is around two hours to review documents for and attend committee meetings. During the off-season, it'll be less. There is no obligation, you can quit at any time—so please feel free to volunteer even if you're not sure it'll work out.

We'd also like a committee member or two willing to be a final level of escalation that the life guards can call in case of issues—after the lifeguard's manager and our management company has proven unable to resolve the issue.

Finally, we're looking for a chairperson. The chairperson will be the primary point of contact for the committee (with both the board and the management company), may be requested to provide advice in emergencies, will preside over the committee meetings, and is requested to attend board meetings at least during the pool season. If you're interested, please let the board know.

We'd like to get this done at our March 26 meeting. If you're interested, please email the board by Wednesday, March 25 or attend the meeting on the 26th,

PS: The Tot Lot, Grounds, and Parking committees could also use volunteers. Email the board for details.

3rd Attempt at February Board of Directors Meeting

Our first two attempts to hold the February meeting were stopped by snow and ice. The third attempt is this Thursday, March 12th, 7pm at Dominion High School. We're in Room 407.

The current forecast is for partly sunny and in the mid 50s, so we're pretty confident this one won't be snowed out.

January 2015 Election Results

At the January 22, 2015 annual meeting, quorum was achieved and Anthony DeRobertis and Stephanie Byers were both re-elected to three-year terms.

At the board meeting held immediately afterwards, the board tabled the election of officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary) until the February meeting. The current officers continue to serve until their successors are elected.

There was a brief discussion of moving the annual meeting to a different time of year, input is welcome.

Thank you to everyone who attended or sent in a proxy.

Westerley Annual Meeting is STILL ON

Our January 22 Annual Meeting will be held in the library of Dominion High School.  Check-in times are from 6:30-7:00pm.  Please be on time as it is important for us to have a quorum of residents.

As a thank you to members in attendance, we will be raffling off two $50 gift cards at the end of the meeting.  You must check in on time and be present to win.

If you cannot make this meeting, please send your Proxy with a neighbor or bring it to the school between 6:30-7:00.

Christmas Tree Recycling

These are not the normal pick up days. Trash, recycling, and yard waste pickup days remain unchanged.
